Questions, answered.

Everything you need to know about our HVLS fans, daylighting and clean-air systems — energy, installation, maintenance and performance in the Philippine climate.

Consumption & Efficiency
Not at all. HVLS fans are known for exceptionally low power consumption — especially Big Ass Fans. Depending on the model they use anywhere from just 20 watts to 1,500 watts. Residential models like the Haiku are ultra-efficient, while industrial fans are engineered to move large volumes of air using minimal energy.
Yes. HVLS fans improve air movement, helping a space feel cooler so you can raise the thermostat a few degrees without sacrificing comfort. Since they use far less energy than air conditioners, running them alongside your AC can lead to noticeable savings.
It depends on the model. Smaller ceiling-mounted fans like the ES6 use around 23 watts (0.023 kWh per hour). Larger industrial fans draw a few hundred watts at typical speeds — up to about 1.4–1.85 kW at full power — moving a lot of air for relatively little energy.
Installation & Maintenance
Not when handled by trained professionals. GeoGreen's team manages everything — from site assessment to mounting and setup — so you don't have to worry about a thing.
For most large HVLS fans, the ceiling should be at least 4.3 metres for safe, efficient airflow. For lower ceilings, we can recommend smaller models that still deliver powerful cooling.
Almost none. For residential models, a yearly check covers safety cables and mounting bolts, dusting the blades, and confirming wiring and smooth rotation. For large industrial fans, GeoGreen can arrange annual preventive maintenance based on the manufacturer's checklist.
Usage & Performance
Absolutely. They're designed for hot, humid environments — keeping air moving in large spaces like warehouses, factories and open-air areas so people feel cooler without relying heavily on air conditioning. We offer models built for both indoor and outdoor tropical conditions.
Surprisingly quiet. The Haiku L operates at less than 35 dBA even at max speed — quieter than a soft whisper. Larger commercial models like the ES6 also stay under 35 dBA at top speed.
Yes — certain models are built for outdoor use and handle heat, humidity and even coastal conditions. Not all models are outdoor-rated, so contact us and we'll help you choose the right one.
Haiku Residential Fans
The Haiku is Big Ass Fans' award-winning residential and light-commercial fan — ultra-quiet (under 35 dBA), highly energy-efficient and beautifully designed, with optional integrated LED lighting.
Yes. Select Haiku models offer an integrated, dimmable LED light with adjustable brightness and colour temperature to suit any room.
Yes. Haiku fans offer Wi-Fi app control and work with Alexa, Google and other systems, plus SenseMe automation that adjusts to occupancy, temperature and humidity.
Living rooms, bedrooms, offices, cafés and covered outdoor areas — there are indoor and damp/outdoor-rated options. GeoGreen will help you choose the right size and finish.
Clean Air System (HVLS-integrated UV-C)
An advanced air-disinfection solution that integrates UV-C technology into HVLS fans to help neutralise airborne viruses, bacteria and mould as air flows through the fan.
As the fan circulates air, that air passes through an enclosed UV-C chamber mounted on the fan. The UV-C light neutralises airborne pathogens before the air is recirculated into the space.
Health & Safety
Yes. The UV-C source is fully enclosed and only treats air as it passes through the unit, so occupants are never exposed to UV-C light.
Yes. It uses scientifically backed UV-C light to reduce airborne pathogens, including viruses and bacteria, helping create a safer indoor environment.
Performance & Maintenance
Independent lab tests show it can reduce airborne pathogens by up to 99.99% when used properly in well-ventilated areas.
Very little. The UV-C module may require periodic lamp replacement depending on usage, and GeoGreen offers service support to make upkeep easy.
How UV-C Works
UV-C light disrupts the DNA or RNA of airborne and surface pathogens like viruses, bacteria and mould, effectively neutralising them. Fresh-Aire UV is engineered specifically to target microbial growth within HVAC systems, improving air quality at the source.
Yes. Some models, like the Fresh-Aire UV APCO-X, include an activated-carbon component that helps reduce VOCs and odours for a fresher indoor environment.
Installation & Compatibility
Most systems are installed inside the HVAC air handler or along the ductwork. Models like the Blue-Tube UV and APCO-X are designed for easy integration with standard HVAC units.
Typically around 1 to 2 hours, depending on your system. Our technicians handle everything for you, and the systems are designed for straightforward retrofit on existing setups.
Performance & Models
Yes. UV-C is particularly helpful in tropical climates where high humidity encourages mould and microbial growth in air handlers and ducts — a common issue in the Philippines.
APCO-X combines UV-C light with activated carbon to treat both biological contaminants and VOCs — great for whole-home purification including odours. Blue-Tube UV focuses on microbial control inside HVAC coils and drain pans — ideal if your priority is mould and coil cleanliness.
General
It captures sunlight through a rooftop dome, reflects it down a highly reflective tube, and diffuses it evenly into your space — bringing natural light indoors without the heat or UV.
Unlike traditional skylights, Solatube uses patented optics to capture and transfer sunlight with greater efficiency and minimal heat gain — and it can be installed without major structural changes.
Installation & Performance
Nearly all roof types found in the Philippines — flat, pitched, shingle, tile and metal. Each system includes specially designed flashing kits matched to your roof for a secure, leak-free fit.
No. When installed correctly, Solatube systems are leak-proof. The flashing creates a tight seal on your roof, so water stays out even during heavy rain.
A standard 290 DS (14-inch) system delivers up to 300–500 watts equivalent of natural light on a sunny day — enough to brighten up to about 28 m², depending on conditions.
Yes. Solatube blocks nearly 100% of UV rays, so it won't fade furniture, fabrics or flooring.
Philippine Relevance
Yes. Solatube domes and flashings are tested for extreme weather. Proper installation by an authorised installer like GeoGreen is key to ensuring typhoon resilience.
Solatube Solar Attic Fans
A ventilation system powered by solar energy. It pulls hot air out of your attic, helping lower indoor temperatures and reduce strain on your cooling system. It turns on automatically when the sun is out and attic temperatures rise.
Yes. By removing trapped heat from your attic, your air conditioner doesn't have to work as hard — especially during peak heat hours — which can lead to noticeable savings over time. And they run without adding to your electricity bill.
Installation & Maintenance
Most installations are completed within a few hours. GeoGreen's trained installers handle everything, ensuring proper placement and a weather-tight seal.
Not at all. They're engineered for whisper-quiet performance — you'll hardly notice them running, even at full speed.
Very little. Durable brushless motors and sealed components require minimal upkeep — just keep the solar panel clean to maintain peak efficiency.
Genesis WaterCube
A Genesis WaterCube extracts water vapour from the air, condenses it into liquid, then filters and purifies it through a multi-stage process to produce clean, safe drinking water.
Yes. WaterCube water is purified to meet NSF/EPA drinking standards, and the systems are engineered to military specifications.
It depends on the model: the WaterCube 10 makes 10+ gallons/day, the WaterCube 100 makes 120+ gallons/day, and the WaterCube 1000 makes 1,000+ gallons/day. Units can be combined for higher demand.
Yes — humidity actually helps. The warm, humid Philippine air is ideal for atmospheric water generation, making it well-suited to resorts, LGUs and off-grid sites.
Very little — just periodic filter replacements, which you can track in the WaterCube app.
